I live in Saskatchewan Canada - Temp ranges from 40 below to 100 and lots of snow in winter
Deck is in partial to full shade
Mold/mildew is not an issue
Never stained a deck before.

I understand many products can now be shipped to Canada. I would appreciate knowing the best stain to use for my deck. I would like it to be (as everyone does) as maintenance free as possible. From what I have read, semi transparent or semi solid is best? I know I need to wait 3-6 months before I stain and clean and brighten because of the mill glaze. But any help would be great!
Thank you.

Maddie, for Canada look at the Armstrong Clark in a semi-solid color. Just one coat for newer wood.

. Thanks for the answer. I would like to see the grain, and I don't mind staining a bit more often, but it really want to avoid peeling and having to strip. Would I be ok with semi-transparent or best to use the semi-solid. Also if I buy a 5gallon pail, will it keep for a couple of years? If so, what is the best way to store it? I really appreciate the advice. Thanks!

Sure you can use a semi-trans instead. Store so there is not chance of evaporation otherwise the stain will probably go bad.
