Thanks for you post. After reading more thoroughly it does seem I misjudged and that Cutek is more of a traditional penetrating oil based finish and not an over hyped gimmick. Sorry about that.

We had big hopes and spent a lot of money on Cutek. Sadly, we hated it. We used many deck stains in our life and this is amongst our worst experiences. Very long to dry (Canada's climate). But the worst part is the final look: the quality of the pigments isn't great, the finish isn't pretty AND all the dust, pollen, shoes' prints, name it, are "attracted" and get trapped in the "oil" . Yes, it is definitely a good product to protect the wood against water and fungus but it always seems dirty (we have to clean annually with their product (long process) and,1 week after, the patio seems and is dirty again).

@blondinadvisedgmail-com One potential issue with paraffin-based oils like Cutek and Ready Seal is that they never dry or cure. They can rub off and dirt can stick to them.
