You can never apply a sealer over a deck stain. Your painter messed this up. Only way to fix now is to remove all and start over.

Leave it alone if you want to wait until you do the full job. You cannot spot apply and have it blend.

Clear sealers will gray naturally in months as the provide no UV protection at all. It is not suggested.

You have to fully remove the previous coating when switching. Not sure if they are the same. BTW, when it says "acrylic" that means it is water based....
