Hi there, Thanks for the wonderful website! I live in Ontario Canada. I have a deck and gazebo made of pressure treated pine. The deck is 1500 sq ft. and has some new and old wood combined. We are going to have the deck sanded and then stained. I am thinking about going with the Armstrong Clark stain, but would like to know which one to choose. The semi transparent, or the semi-solid. I not only want it to look great, but I want as little maintenance as possible. My gazebo is 2 years old and was partially stained with the Behr solid stain. We have managed to remove 90% of the stain, but there still will be traces of the stain that remains. Will I be able to use the A/Clark semi solid on this, or will I have to use the A/C solid stain. Again, maintenance is a huge issue.

Thank you for your time!

Forgot to mention.. The Behr stain was a taupe colour latex. I see the A/Clark dos not make a solid stain, so what stain would you recommend that will adhere to the existing stain. We face north, so we get early morning and late afternoon sun.

Thanks

I would look at the Armstrong Clark in the Semi-Solid Mountain Cedar color. I think it would blend and look great on this deck.

We would love to see some picture when done!

Let us know if you have any other questions.

I live in Pigeon Forge, Tn. have a 40 deck, and most of it is in direct sun.
2008 put on Behr semi transparent deck stain.
To date some of the wood has black stain, and some areas gray.
Can the black & gray areas be cleaned before applying another clear sealer,
All I want is a clear wood preserver. Which one should I buy.
Thank you

I would use a stain stripper to remove the Behr then apply a wood brightener to prep. Clear sealers will not protect for UV for very long. I would consider Defy Extreme Clear.
