Which wood is best for an extreme amount of chlorinated water - Ipe, Redwood, Teak or Cedar?
This is basically going to be near a pool and perhaps a matt (wood planks) in a shower. The wood is not pressure treated.
I have read here that Ipe will need to be finished every 6-12 months, but not sure about the other woods used in these wet conditions (teak vs. redwood vs. cedar).
Also, I am concerned about finishes clogging the drain (oil based building up or peeling of others). Would Armstrong Clark Ipe be a good choice for all exotic wood (Ipe, teak)?
Thanks!
Probably Teak or IPE for the wood.
No finish will last with extreme amounts of chlorine. Best to maybe just prep by cleaning a couple of times a years to retain color.
