If you mix clear with semi-transparent stain will it prevent the wood from turning gray? I was thinking of mixing 1 gallon of tinted with 4 gallons of clear. Wood stained with semi-transparent is much hotter on bare feet.

It will but you will be lessening the UV protection by 20%. It will fade much faster.

What stain would you recommend for my situation? Kansas City,Full Sun,PTP,no mold,10 year old deck - upper deck stained 9 years ago with olympic maximum honey toned and the lower deck has never been treated. Would like natural look as much as possible.
Thanks

Do I need to strip the olympic stain that is on the balusters and handrails or just clean and brighten? Most of it has worn off on the floor.

Best to strip and brighten it all.
