We are putting down juniper wood, that was salvaged from beams used in perhaps 100 year old farm house. Louisiana wood. It was cut into 1 inch planks which we are going to build an exterior deck with. The wood has been cut and drying for over a year. Should we seal it once it is down, or allow it to weather ? What sealant would be good choice. We are located in Florida, near the Gulf coast, hot summers, some cold weather.

I would lightly clean after install then apply a stain like Armstrong Clark or Defy Extreme
