Can I use the same stain for cedar siding that I use on an Ipe deck? Also, what prep do I need to prepare for to destain my Ipe deck?

A couple other things... We live at 8100" altitude with southern exposure. Our contractor wants to use Sikkens stain on our siding. Should we consider another product due to the high UV exposure?

Ipe is greyed out, husbands wants to know if it needs to be sanded before any other prep. Oh, an 8100 feet, not inches. Ha! Ha!
