Help! I made the mistake of putting an outdoor rug on our deck last year and when we removed it yesterday to clean and brighten the cedar deck, we we left with a giant stain where the rug was. We used Woilman Deck and Fence Brightener and the deck always comes back to life after we use that and a scrub brush, but this year we can't get ride of the mark where the rug is. It is a darker color now..
Any advice?
Strip it all down to the bare wood and brighten after.
Any suggestions on how to strip it down? Thanks.
Did you see the pic? Do you think we can match it evenly? Chemical fix? Sanding? Flip boards?
Is there a deck stain where the rug is?
No, I used a clear sealer 4 years ago when the deck was installed, but that is pretty much all gone at this point.
You can then try to clean and brighten the wood but it willstilll show some. After a year or so, it will even out.
Thanks. So sand? Or strip with what product?

Airing out in today's sun seems to have really helped. Thank goodness.
