60-80 grit for the drum paper. Same for hand sander. Post some before and after pictures would be great for this two toned deck.
If you pressure wash the house than just rinse of the deck when done and you will be okay for another week or so.
It will be much easier to remove next Spring with a deck stain stripper. Very hard to strip just applied stain.
