I have rebuilt our deck using 5/4 x 6 KDAT yellow pine. There were two spots where it was necessary to have a 2x8 planed down to 5/4 x 8. The mill took roughly the same amount of wood off both sides of the 2x8's.

Since these boards come from the middle of the 2x8's, I suspect that the concentration of the ACQ treatment in the wood is lower than a regular 5/4 x 6 board. The color of the wood is much lighter than the regular boards.

What would be the pros and cons of applying Woodlife Classic (clear) preservative to these two boards after prepping with Restore-A-Deck and before applying TWP 100? If the pros outweigh the cons, how long should I wait before applying the TWP 100?

You cannot apply a preservative then a stain on top. The TWP will be hindered with proper penetration I would suspect. Also there would be no advantage to this. TWP want the wood to season exposed in the weather for 4-12 months before applying their stain.

Interesting that your answer is "wait for 4-12 months when the KDAT instructions say you can stain immediately. Not only MFG Sealants with their TWP, but also the customer service folks at Defy confirmed that finishing immediately is fine.
