Hi,
I have a 5 year old pressure treated deck (located in Vermont) that needs to be re-stained. Previous product was Olympic Maximum (semi-transparent) that I stripped (or tried to using Benjamin Moore Remove) then brightened with Benjamin Moore Brighten. I had done a test strip area on the deck before doing the entire deck in which I used a dilution. The results were good on horizontal surfaces so I used this same dilution on the rest of the deck but with much worse results... Anyways, after stripping and brightening, I sanded the entire deck with an orbital sander with 60 grit paper. Not all stain was removed (esp. on vertical surfaces). Talked to the paint guy at the local hardware store (where I purchased the stripper) and should him some pictures. He thought I should re-strip the deck again. There's no way i'm doing that again... My question is where do I go from here? Can I use a semi-transparent again or should I go with a solid since not all previous stain was removed? I'm open to any other suggestions.

Semi-trans will not blend well. A semi-solid of similar color may. Armstrong Clark in Sequoia.
