Hey guys,

A little over a week ago I stripped/brightened and then stained my cedar deck. It was about 4-5 months with just a clear coat that was not doing the job and I wanted the UV protection. So I used Defy hardwood stain, their recommendation for cedar(naturalpine) 2 coats and everything was good. Recently though, I have noticed that where water has pooled after a rain that it is leaving water spots on the deck/rail that don't wipe off. Any ideas on what to do or what went wrong?

Mineral deposits from water drying is normal and should easily wipe off. Does not make any sense if it does not wipe off. I would contact the manufacturer for help.

Stained and sealed our new cedar deck with TWP 1530 Natural last night (2 coats both applied by brush). About 4 hours later, it rained:( We blew off the excess water that puddled on the deck first thing the morning and wiped off every board with a soft cloth to remove the "water circles" formed on top of the excess stain/sealant. The cedar looks great now but seems very slippery. Will this go away once it completely dries? Any other suggestions?

Atlanta, GA - where is seems to rain everyday now!

Hard to say but let it see after a week or so. Hopefully it will go away.
