I have a PVC deck and it's great. The support wood under the deck is pressure treated wood. For aesthetic purposes, I wanted to stain that PT wood with a solid color stain.

1. Is this a good idea? Are there any cons in doing this? The only thing I can think of is I would now have to do maintenance staining, whereas if I didn't stain, then I would just do nothing.

2. Since the PT wood is generally "protected" from the elements (vastly shaded, some spots would get wet during rain), would I still need to do a maintenance coat every 2-3 years? or would it last for 5-7+ years? I'll probably go with Defy or RAD.

I am a beginner, My stain doesnot support beams? Manns Classic Oak Wood Stain is a water-based wood stain, I used this treatment for Oak beams.
