I am a first-time stainer from Eastern PA. I have a smallish (10x8) pressure treated lumber deck with a roof covering off of my master (second story = need to stain the support beams too) that I want to finish. The wood is about a year old and I was considering TWP 1500 in natural.

Do I really just need to clean the wood and apply? Is reapplication as easy as a second cleaning and reapplication? More generally, is my selection of product ideal for the job and am I missing anything else?

Lastly, is the TWP worth the wait and hassle of mail-order over a brand more readily available at a local or big-box hardware store? If not, I am open for suggestions.

Thanks!

Yes clean and brighten the wood to prep for now and future applications. TWP is much better then anything at HD or Lowes. It is readily available in most states as well but not in all areas. I would call the manufacturer for help with possibly locating locally.
