22 year old deck that has been stained multiple times with Behr Premiuam Solid Color Stain. The Behr stain usually lasts about 3 years (not too bad). Currently bout 5% of the surface has failed. The rest of the stain is tight. The deck is starting to rot around the screw holes. I'm trying to make the deck last several more years before replacing it and I don't want to strip the whole thing. I've pressure washed, scrapped and patched. I realize I can't use a penetrating product over the existing stain film. Is there anything better I can use at this point other that just putting the Behr Premium solid color back on it again?
In your scenario, you would best off just doing the same thing you are currently doing. Switching to another solid stain will not guarantee better results.
