Hello I have been finding great information on this site and am going to order products based on your recommendations. but before I get started, I needed some advice
Location Maryland
North Facing deck and stairs so gets a lot of sun
Wood type: Not sure but was pressure treated so probably Pine.
Gets a little bit of green algae stain on it.
We bought the house a few years ago and it looks like the deck is at least 10 years old. It had a cedar stain on it that was (poorly) applied with a sprayer. I pressure washed the deck 2 years ago and it needs to be refinished this year.
I was planning to use Restore a Deck Stripper and Brightener to prep the deck and then use TWP 100/1500 to stain and seal it. Now the questions
1) do I pressure wash before applying the stripper? Or does it strip and clean deck itself (I was planning to apply with a sprayer)
2) do I pressure wash after applying the stripper
3) DO I need to sand the deck before staining? like the previous poster, it has some ridges from the wood grain
4) are RAd stripper/brightener and TWP the right products
thanks

1. Apply stripper then pressure wish off.
2. Yes
3. No need
4. Yes but you will need the 1500 for Maryland
