I am clueless. I have cleaned, sanded my deck and am about to stain. I live in coastal NC and the deck is in direct sun most of the day. Summers are HOT! Can you tell me what kind of stain I should use? Brand? solid or semitrans? What would best be used for the extreme sun?
Thanks SO MUCH!!!

Last year I sanded and stained my deck in Hampton, VA You absolutely do not want solid. That is what failed and sanding it off was a major job. I used TWP. Very happy with the results but you must prep and apply as per the manufacturers instructions. You can call them, like I did, to make sure I was doing it right. A year later it is still beautiful. I expect to have to reapply every few years but the prep should be minimal.

If you have time, please post a review for the TWP here:
