Hi, we just completed a dock on the lake in SC and it was built using a combination of pressure treated pine lumber and PVC deck boards.  This dock will be in heavy sunlight most of the day.  Our contractor recommended One Time stain and said it would last longer than most other stains, 5 to 7 years.  He also said that we should stain immediately and not wait.

I am interested to get your opinion on the best available stain on the market  for our location and wood type.  I don't have a preference for oil or water based, just want the best.

Nothing lasts 5-7 years. Read the reviews and customer comments below the article here on the One Time:  https://www.deckstainhelp.com/one-time-wood-deck-stain-review/

A few positive responses but more negative.

See here about new wood:  https://www.deckstainhelp.com/staining-a-new-deck/
