We have a new cedar deck that has aged 4 months. All but one of the horizontal boards is absorbing rain now (and some are starting to split/crack).
I see you like Armstrong Clark for new decks (paraffin), but tend to like TWP for a lot of others. If we initially use Armstrong Clark, do we stick with that for the 2nd coat later and a couple years out? Or do/can we switch to TWP.
Just didn't know if it's best to stick with one product after you apply it. Also, does stain keep well? Seeing how the formulas keep changing, does it make sense to buy the recoat supply now?
Thanks!
You can switch to TWP by using a deck stain stripper for the prep. The AC is easily removed if you want to switch.
I would not worry about buying for the future. Nothing major will change in the next few years.
