I touched up some boards yesterday evening with Cabot Gold stain.  This morning they are blotchy and have a film them. Could this be from the dew?  Are they ruined?

@jndewitt23 Looks like you over-applied the stain. See tips: https://www.deckstainhelp.com/why-is-deck-stain-is-shiny/

Cabot gold is suppose to be shiny.

other areas I did dried and matched up perfect.  I did these areas later in the evening around 7 shortly before the dew set in.

Shiny will lead to peeling. it is a bad idea for a deck stain to be shiny. Best to contact them directly for help with your scenario as we do not use this product due to peeling issues. Doubt the issue was due to the dew.
