I first want to thank you for all your great advice. We used the Restore A Deck stripper, cleaner and brightner and they worked great. As you can see by one of the pictures some of the stain was very hard to get off, my wife said it was because we had a smaller deck at first and those were those were pieces that were stained twice.

1. What should we use to stain the deck and spindles
2. Should we use a semi transparent or semi solid stain.
3. We live on Long Island, is the Armstrong Clark a good choice. We like the color choices.

Thanks very much.

Both semi-trans and semi-solid Armstrong Clark stains will work great.

I think you would be best off with a semi-solid color. It would give a better overall appearance with this deck since some stain is still on the wood.

Stain pads are better IMO. Not a big fan of rollers. You can pick stain pads up locally. Typically made by Shurline and Padco.
