I need to break up my deck staining project over the course of several days, and I’m wondering about how to maintain equipment/materials in the interim:
(1) I’m using an oil based stain (Armstrong Clark), so do I need to use mineral spirits to clean the deck stain pad and paint tray at the end each day? Or could I put them in plastic garbage bags until the next day?
(2) Can I leave my paint brush in a ziplock in the fridge overnight between uses?
(3) Is it OK to leave 2 gallons of oil based deck stain combined in a 5 gallon white plastic bucket for several days until the staining job is completed? (I’m wondering if the stain will degrade the plastic, leaching the plastic into the stain...?)
Thanks so much for any tips you can offer -- and I’ve really appreciated the resources on this site!

1. You can wrap in a bag if doing it the next day.
2. Just zip lock bags is fine. No need to freeze.
3. Yes you can leave in plastic pail for several days without an issue.
