My wife is insistent on wanting a white railing for our deck. Ideally she'd like a dark gray deck floor, but I've at least talked her out of the the Restore products and maybe even have talked her into a semi-transparent instead of solid stain for ease of long term maintenance. But she wants those white rails...
One guy recommended SW Emerald - would a paint like this work OK for rails since they are mainly a vertical structure (top and bottom rails are flat though)? Or would a solid stain be better than paint (and if so - any recommendations)? Any similar good/bad experiences to share when trying to do a two-tone deck/rail job?
Love this site - thanks!
Use a solid color decking stain for the rails. Two toned decks look great and solids work fine for verticals.
