I'm in big trouble and need some help again. I built a 5/4 cedar deck last summer, but couldn’t age it before the rainy season hit. I tried the Gemini Cleaning solution to remove the gray oxidation but it didn't work. (My water may not have been warm enough hence it may not have been well mixed.) In desperation I picked up some Behr Deck Cleaner #63 and used a pressure washer. Unfortunately, it was so hard to remove I had to pressure wash chisel it off with a 25 degree tip close up even after letting it sit for 30 minutes. As expected, it left me with white punky areas all over. How can I remedy this?
Also, still have some little areas where there is still some mold. (Probably sap in the wood?) Should I carefully paint a 50/50 bleach solution on those areas and rinse off in 5 minutes?
I also still have the Gemini Brightener but I have a feeling I need to sand it first? I'm desperate to resolve this so I can stain it with 5 gallons of TWP Cedar Tone (101).
Thanks in advance!
Lee
That is wood fuzzies from the wood graying or oxidation from the UV. See here for how to remove:
Make sure to use the brightener after.
