Rather than buy a kit, over the winter I purchased straight sodium percarbonate to clean my 2 year old pressure treated pine. I intend to start cleaning right now. I thought I had based my cleaner decision on info collected from this site, but now I am unable to find a recipe to mix up and start. Anyone know how much to use? Thanks for this!

Additional info: over 1000sf of work to do with lots of railing; never been stained; little mold, if any; one level is pool deck; full sun; deck boards very gray, but vertical railing not much gray at all

Straight Sodium Percarbonate will not work the same as a deck cleaner kit. You are missing some important ingredients to boost and activate the cleaner. It will probably work somewhat but make sure to mix with warm water or it will not work at all. Not sure on the amount. Maybe one cup to a gallon of water.

I just used Wolman DeckBrite (this contains Sodium Percarbomate) but does not show %. It is called a wood cleaner and coating prep and claims to be Oxygen Activated. The mix ratio was 3/4 Cup per gallon of luckwarm water. It worked really well to remove mold and dirt and the surface looks good for staining. Hope this helps. I have question for Admin. Can I now stain with TWP 1500 without additional prep?

You should apply a wood brightener as Sodium Polycarbonate increases the pH level and the brightener will neutralize.
