 Hi I was wondering if we have to do all the steps before staining or can we just pressure wash and get started? Thank you! Also we are near the border of Wisconsin so what stain would be the best? Thanks!

Since it is rough sawn cut, just make sure the wood is clean and dry and you will be able to stain.
