What to do when stripping doesnt remove everything?

For a floor sander, which would you recommend, orbital or drum? Also when I do stain it, can I do 2 coats or should I wait a year? Thanks......

We were already thinking of doing a dark stain, we thought about TWP 1503 Dark Oak, and TWP 1504 Black Walnut. Do you think those are dark enough?

Yes you will need to sand off the rest. Belt or floor sander. Wait a month then clean and brighten before applying the TWP.
