Cable Rail Redo

I used Cabot Australian Timber Oil to stain posts and railing of a cable rail railing 2 years ago. All the wood is cedar. I stained everything before I put the cable in. Unfortunately the stain looks poor after two winters. The posts are okay, but now uneven in color. The top of the railing is checked and the stain appears nonexistent in many places.

My question is using stripper with the cable rail. It is the Cable Rail from Feeny. Will the stripper discolor the cable rail? I invested a lot in the cable and don't want to mess it up.

Thanks,

Gary

Not sure, but probably not. Do you have a picture of the cable? If stainless steel, there would be no issues.
