I need to stain a new PT pine picket fence. It was build just over a year ago. I want to know what will require the least and easiest maintenance (no future stripping or sanding of pickets!!). I was considering the TWP but was reading that a solid stain requires the least maintenance. 2/3 of the fence is mostly shaded, 1/3 lots of sun. The pickets are small, 2x2 with same size gap, 3 facia boards and a top board and finials on top of the fence posts. Want to do it right the first time. I live in Asheville, NC.

Is this wood rough or smooth?

Wait a few months to let the wood season then clean and brighten for the prep. Stain with Armstrong Clark.

It is already 15months old - do I need to wait longer?

Am in similar situation, new pickett fence is PT yellow pine, just went up last week, near Richmond VA, about 150 linear foot x 4 ft high, 1/3 full sun rest partial. Need recommendation on what specific products to use to clean/prep and stain and seal.
Would same recommendation above hold? Looking for something I can reapply 3-5 years down the road without much reprep.
Thanks, just found this site, great resources!

I would use the same advice as above. Use Restore A Deck products for the prep.
