Deck Stain Questions and Answers

I used the new cabot timber oil on my deck and don't like the finish, the color is even and the stain absorbed well, but when it dried, it's shinier in some areas and duller in others. Is there a product (like a clear sealer or waterproofer or something) that can be applied over it so that the finish looks consistent? Or am I left with sanding and restaining the whole deck. I don't want to change the color.
