Hi. I've been working on my deck since June, whenever I've had free time to spare. The deck is 6 or 7 years old and I would like to keep it in good shape. I stripped the entire thing and sanded. I finished the railings am ready to do the deck boards, but I'm in Eastern Canada and the weather is getting cold. Average temperatures during the day have been below 10 C. There are a couple days next week that will be 12 C, but it gets much colder through the night. Ideally, I should wait for warmer temperatures before staining, but winter is just around the corner. Since everything is freshly sanded, would it be better to get it done now or wait until Spring when the weather warms up?

Do it Spring. Final prep with a deck cleaner and then a wood brightener.
