I have a 8 month old 16x16 deck over a walkout ready to be stained. Cleaned it and sanded it last Friday and planned to stain it on Sunday. Using Sikkens SOLID white (like paint really) on the rails and brown SOLID on the floor. Planned to get the rails out of the way then hit up floor last.

Unfortunately on Sunday morning the deck felt damp so I postponed it and had a few more sunny days. Covered it with tarps when a chance of rain was in the forecast then started it back up on Thursday (6 days after it was cleaned). Worked on it for 10 hours on Friday and as I was finishing up the FIRST coat on the rails on Saturday when the 0% chance of rain turned into 100% chance the weatherman know the definition of precipitation. I don't think the light rain caused any problems on the vertical rails and hand rails since it is a solid white but I blew off the water with a blower anyway.

I cleaned and sanded the deck a week ago and it doesn't seem like I will be able to get the second coat on the rails in until mid to late next week due to a chance of rain in 2 days. That will be 12-14 days after the deck was cleaned. Not to mention I didn't even do the floor yet! I know the directions say you should stain the floor in a week after it is prepped and you have 4 weeks for the vertical surfaces.

My first question is how long do I have to apply the second coat to the rails? What prep work should I do to the rails before the 2nd coat since I'm going days between applications?

My next question is what do I have to do to prepare the floor again since it will at least 2 weeks after I cleaned the deck?

If it's not detrimental to the project I could plan to finish the 2nd coat on the rails in the next 7 days then prep the floor again for the stain. I know you can't clean it 30 days after the stain is applied.

It it were use we would just lightly rinse the deck down with water and let dry for a few days. You will be fine. I would also check with Sikkens to make sure nothing else is needed.
