Hi,

I just bought a house last year and I wanted to tackle refinishing the decor deck / pergola it has. All the floor is grey, but the uprights and pergola still have some finish on them. I was going to strip the wood, brighten it, lightly sand (if needed) and then 2 coats of stain. I wanted to go for a classic cedar tone finish. I can see tips for a NEW cedar deck, but not many for an older one... Should I use Sikkens? Penofin? TWP100? Any onto would be appreciated! I understand that I will have to re-apply stain in a couple of years, but by starting fresh, I figured I could just re apply what I used....?

Thanks!

Use the TWP 100 or the 1500 Series. Strip and brighten all. Stain all now and most likely will just have to do horizontals in 2 years and the whole thing in 4 years as the verticals last twice as long.

Post some pictures if you can.
