I made the mistake several years ago of using Cabot opaque stain, after using a transparent stain for years. Since then, every winter has caused the stain to to peel excessively, leaving me with the chore of sanding and restaining every spring. (I don't want to use a stripper) Are there any opaque deck stains that will hold up better to New England winters?
