Hi, I’m in Georgia, my deck is in full sun, and it’s pressure treated pine. The deck was built in 2014, left to weather for 12 months, and then cleaned with the restore-a-deck system (cleaner and brightener), and then stained with 1 coat of Armstrong Clark semi transparent. After the application of the stain, I had many areas of the deck where there were beads of some sticky substance coming up from the wood. I thought it was weird (I didn’t read anything about that happening during my research on your site before I did it), but I didn’t do anything about it. Anyway, AC recommended a second coat of the stain on the horizontal surfaces in 12 months. My question is - do I do the restore a deck system again before I add more stain? And do you know what the sticky beading was and can I avoid that this time?

Thank you so much!

Also, I forgot to ask if I should do it now in the Fall or wait until spring?

Yes, you need to prep again. Do in the Spring.
