Hi, we are so happy we have found this website!
We need to stain a few years old deck that is exposed to full sun much of the year and heavy rains. The deck is pine, and the earlier used semi-transparent stain is peeling and cracking. The color is greyish green.
My husband is sanding off the old stain, and wants to stain the deck with semi-transparent penetrating oil-based stain.
Which brands would be the best for us? Do you have experience of and possible pictures of decks stained with TWP 100 cape cod grey and Amstrong-Clark grey? How difficult is it to change deck color from grey to a brown color?
We are surrounded by many trees and have a brook in the back yard but have no mold or mildew issues.
Thanks in advance for reply!

We do not have any pictures but have used both. We, in general, are not fans of gray stains. Doesn't look like natural wood. Browns are much better. Both TWP and the AC would be great choices for this deck.

Thanks for the quick reply! The reason why we are considering staining with grey is that we are afraid that it is very troublesome to change the deck color. Any comments/advice?

You have to remove all of the current stain 100% before changing brands so it does not matter if you use a gray or a brown after this prep.
