Hi! We recently bought a home in Northern Virginia with two unstained pine landscape timber retaining walls in semi-shaded locations. The walls were green in some shaded areas and weathered gray or darkened in others, so we recently power-washed them and replaced some damaged pieces. Now, we want to stain the walls a dark gray. What product do you recommend, and how long should we wait to stain the new lumber? Thank you.

See this first for new wood tips: https://www.deckstainhelp.com/how-long-should-you-wait-to-stain-a-new-deck/

Try Armstrong Clark in Driftwood gray.

Thanks for your swift response. We'll wait, and be certain to clean and treat the wood before staining. We came across Driftwood Gray in our research, but want a much darker color gray or ebony stain and are having trouble sourcing it. Any further thoughts?

Thanks again for your advice.

Try AC in Black Walnut for a dark brown.
