Hi Scott, I live in Massachusetts. I installed new 5/4 red cedar stk over pt joists on a south-facing deck with no shade. It's about 8' off the ground with good air circulation. About 2 months after install in July 2021, I lightly sanded with an orbital sander and applied 2 coats of (Ben Moore) Coronado Maxum 7300 translucent stain. At that point, it looked incredible. But by early this summer, 95% of the stain has peeled or degraded and no longer has the appearance of being stained. Some graying / weathering / raised wood fibers are apparent. I do not want to use the Coronado again obviously, but BM has discontinued it (thankfully), so where do I go from here? Sand off any remaining stain and reapply another brand of translucent stain? Any particular recommendations for compatibility with any remaining alkyd stain in the cedar decking?

You will have to remove all the BM stain when switching. Post some pics for prep help.
