I have a large deck and gazebo--a few years ago the prior owner stained everything with Behr semitransparent stain.  it peeled off grossly and I just did a lot of of work to replace all the deck boards and railings.  Not replacing the cedar gazebo boards. Pretty much in all good shape. Now the gazebo has some areas that are peeled off and most in good shape.

I've learned that this Behr stain is not that good.  I am not in a position to sand off an remove all the behr stain from my gazebo right now.   But I do need to clean up the areas that are worn.

So.....in the immediate timeframe...can I clean up the worn areas and apply a BETTER quality stain with a matching color?  or should I just reapply the Behr right now...and in the future try to remove all the stain and re-do?

Am I stuck with reapplying the previous stain, since I'm not going to re-do it all

You cannot apply a different brand of stain over the Behr. Applying more Behr will make it even harder to remove and it will peel even more. Try stripping it all down and then sanding the rest. Might want to hire this one out as well.
