I have a section of smooth tongue & grove cedar siding on one side of my house.  It is a small bump out and has painted siding on either side of the cedar bump out.  I am sanding the old water based semi transparent stain off of it and am going to re-stain with a semitransparent stain from Armstrong Clark.

Will the Restore-A-Deck cleaner and brightener kit damage my house paint?  Do I have to tape off the painted area and cover it with plastic?

I am hoping not, but thought it better to ask before finding out the hard way.

No, but prewet the siding first and then rinse over spray while working. This makes cleanup easier.
