I have a nine-year-old deck in Louisville Kentucky. It is pressure-treated pine, in full sun all day, she was algae but no mold or mildew that I can discern. We purchased the house a year after the deck was built and it was untreated. We clean and staying with Bond's One-Time Wood Protector (can't recall if semitransparent or not... Seemed to have color at the time.) We waited five years and cleaned and reapplied with same brand but natural color. The deck is a very grey, very dry with cracking and splitting. Some cupping and wrapping. We replaced five really bad boards last summer with premium Yellow pine, no stain yet, instead of all due to cost. Would like to restore versus replace, as I assume is now possible. So I assume after reading a ton of your posts, that I need to either (1) strip and brighten or (2) thoroughly clean and brighten then restain with different brand. I have not seen any references to the Bond's brand in any of your posts. I purchased a bottle of Olympic deck cleaner last year but have not used. Question is, to strip or to clean? If clean, is Olympic deck cleaner okay? Which stain might be most appropriate now? Deck is 32 feet long by 16 feet. Would love to get it right this time. Thanks

Strip and brighten this. You need to remove the One Time so the new coating will be able to saturate into the wood. Stain with TWP 100 Series or Armstrong Clark.

Thank you. With regard to ongoing maintenance. What is the best plan?

Every 2 years you should clean and recoat the horizontals. The verticals should be done every 3-4 years.
