Deck Stain Stripping Questions and Answers

We have to strip and re-finish a large Ipe 'floating' deck, that was previously finished with Cabot's Australian Timber Oil. I'm worried that the deck stripper will compromise the rubber (EDPM) membrane below.
Hoping for a product recommendation.
