Hi, we just added on this wood paneled entry. It’s like a porch with walls. My husband

IMG 2253

stained it yesterday with Flood semi-transparent. It was supposed to be a light “natural fir” color, but it’s ORANGE. So, so terribly orange. What can we do????  Strip? Re-stain? Paint over it?

The easiest would be to prime and paint it over, but it will not look like natural wood. Otherwise, you will need to strip and sand, and this will not be easy to do because it is newly applied and in such a small enclosed area.

@administrator Thanks so much for the come

back! I’ve heard that it’s hard to paint over stain. Any advice on doing that successfully? If it can’t be natural wood, I’d want it to be white paint.

I’ve seen stripping products that appear to be paint on and wash off - no sanding. Is that a thing?  With the grooves and ceiling, we’re pretty unwilling to scrape or sand.

Thanks for your help!

Use primer first, and you will be fine. You need to pressure wash off if you try to strip, and not easy due to the enclosed area.
