Deck Stain Stripping Questions and Answers

We have a 1 year old pressure treated deck, in Maryland, that gets full sun most of the day. We waited 7 months to have them come and apply a clear transparent stain. They power washed it first and it now has many cracks and it does not look good. From what I understand, I should strip it first (thought of using Defy exterior wood stripper) and then use their brightener. Then apply a stain. I like the Armstrong semi-transparent and also the TWP 1500 (more colors).
Is one a better option?
Can I sand out the area where it is cracking before or after stripping?
If I want to reapply it in a few years will I have to go through the process of stripping the stain again?

Thanks. I have a further question about stripping. I was hesitant to use the Restore-a deck because of the instruction about using an injector on a pressure washer. Can I apply it without using a pressure washer? I don't have one to use and would rather not have to rent one.

RAD Stripper can be injected or pump sprayed on with a garden sprayer. We inject as contractors since it is easier but have used it with our pump sprayer. It is actually more effective that way. Once it is applied you will need to get everything off and a pressure washer for rinsing is the best way.

I was able to get the name of what was used last year on our deck. It was Cabbots Australian Timber Oil Natural. Do I need to strip this before I apply the Armstrong semi-transparent?
