Well, I just got done doing a huge deck project with 5/4 6" IPE and installed the hidden fasteners. It came out beautiful.. I went ahead a did minimal research and used Messmers Natural UV Plus for Hardwoods.... Decent product but I am a perfectionist.... As I did more research and had my front deck already sealed with messmers... My 800 sqft back deck was just done being installed by me and I thought huh I am not overly impressed with my front deck that is 1000 sqft plus.... So off to the races I go and found TWP 116 as the top rated stain at least one of the tops.... So I just got done applying the two coats wet/wet and absolutely love it..... Amazing how nice it is......I love the hue's and the look.... In my opinion way better than messmers and now I need to strip my new front IPE deck and thought I better ask whats the best way to remove.... RAD system M80.... My goal is to have something that works and is somewhat gentle not to harsh on my new IPE.... Please let me know your thoughts... I also thought about just going right over top.... But I do not not want a mess on my hands... Thank you for your input and expertise....George

Personally I would leave it alone until next year. IPE requires annually maintenance since it is so dense. It will be easier to clean and apply the TWP then.
