We have decided to do a two tone color job on or newly remodeled deck. We have decided to use either Flood or Defy (hard to ge in our area) solid stain for our deck floors. We have a deck that is half screened in porch and half deck. Previously the paint/stains were different, but this time we would like to unify the look.
We are also painting the ceiling of our screened in porch, along with the wall next to the house. My wife has gotten a recommendation from her brother in law contractor for Sherwin Williams Resilience to paint the floor and wall of the screened in porch. Would this be a good choice?
Would it also be a good choice for the outside vertical railings? Or do we need a solid stain for the exterior railings? They are pressure treated pine with black aluminum balusters. We are looking at painting/staining the wood white and the deck floor a russet or mahogany color.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Use a solid color deck stain, not a paint for the floors and the verticals. Paints will peel on floors.
