I am currently cleaning/stripping/brightening my deck. I completed the deck in different 'phases' over the years. A majority of the deck has been stained approximately 2 times over the last 5 years. The newest portion has no stain or sealer. The old stain is peeling/failing so I am removing it all so I can restain with a better product and to also get a uniform coating over the old and new. I built the deck with a 'picture-frame' type border. (deck boards outlining the deck area mitered at each corner). My outer 'picture-frame' area is a darker tone, and the main deck it a lighter cedarish tone. I live in Arkansas, the deck gets both sun & shade. It is on the North side of our 2 story house and is shaded by 2 large Hickory trees in the Morning. It appears that the TWP would be a good choice. Does anyone have any pictures of a similar type comination of colors ie dark border and lighter main portion? I was thinking the Dark Oak or Walnut on the border/perimeter boards, but cannot determine what color would look good with this color as the perimeter color. My deck boards are pressure treated pine from the Big Orange Store. I have included some pics prior to my cleaning/stripping this year.
