Hello!

I have a deck that has boards that are extremely worn...not sure what kind of stain was on it but most of it is gone. We replaced around 30% of the boards and all of the balusters, railing, and steps down. So, its a mix of very old and very new.

We plan to use the Restore-A-Deck set to strip and brighten, etc...but just not sure what stain to use. Was thinking the Armstrong-Clark semi solid since the old boards are so old, but the product says its not for wood less than a year old...which the new boards are new? What is a good stain for a deck that is a mix of new and old?

Thank you.

New wood needs to season before staining:  https://www.deckstainhelp.com/staining-a-new-deck/

This will help to blend the new and older wood:

Okay! These articles are helpful. Looks like we should go with a semi-transparent stain...thank you!
