My deck is two years old and the wood was called Dura Deck, a pre treated fir that has a reddish brown tint to it. I want to stain and preserve it as it is starting to show some wear, and we live on the Oregon coast which is very wet. Can I just clean it and apply a good stain? I would think you wouldn't want to strip what's left of the original stain/preservative which is still present. Thanks. Lance.

You will need to strip so the new coating can properly soak into the wood. Brighten the wood after the stripping. Stain with TWP 100 Series or the Armstrong Clark.
